Day 16: Hvar to Zadar
Another beautiful morning (16 straight!), Today was a travel day, Hvar back to Split by ferry, and then to Zadar, a bit further north. By the time we arrived in Zadar, I was going downhill fast and went right to bed.
(The rest of the group had a tour of Zadar with a great guide (an archeologist), but I Have yet to collect any photos from our budding photographers. So I will eventually amend this entry when I get pix and more information.)
A project commissioned by the city in 2008 called "Salute to the Sun" includes a 22 meter diameter circle of 300 solar panels representing the sun which provide electricity to the city, and a sea organ that produces sounds caused by wave action. It was the world's 1st pipe organ played by the sea.having35 openings on the quay side. Together, they produce a light show that is suppose to simulate the solar system.
